The Oxford Michigan School Shooting
Main Events/Details:
Ethan Crumbley killed four classmates at Oxford High School on December 4, 2021
He shot the four students (Madislyn Baldwin, Tate Myre, Hana St. Juliana, and Justin Shilling) using a firearm that was said to have been bought by the parents on Black Friday
It was also said that he discussed the homicidal actions with his parents before committing the crime
He is facing charges as an adult, including terrorism and first-degree murder, among many others
His parents are facing the charge of involuntary manslaughter due to their connections with their son’s actions
Irresponsible Parental Guidance:
Nothing was done about trying to stop Ethan from committing the crime
The prosecutors have also said that the message Ethan received in response to buying ammunition for the firearm was, “LOL I’m not mad at you. You have to learn not to get caught”
Prior to the shooting, Crumbley was sent to the principal’s office for concerning illustrations and written statements that indicated harm to either himself or to others
After a call to the unconcerned parents asking them to pick Ethan up and take him to counseling, Ethan was sent back to class instead of being sent home to what the staff believed to be an empty house.
During a passing period, Crumbley began shooting the students from a gun that was said to be in his backpack. This means that he had an easy enough access to the firearm to take it to school without anyone noticing
